Today is a great birthday for me! We have been home since Thursday! Ben is doing very well. There have been a few moments of anxiety for me. Like when he slept pretty much all day on Friday. And threw up that day too. But other than that, we have loved being a family again. And this is the best birthday present I could hope for. I will be going back to kohl's house to stay the night tonight because Ben has labs and a clinic visit tomorrow morning, and it's just easier to stay here than to leave at 4:30 in the morning. Our house is also finally back in order, for the most part. It looked like a disaster area from Thursday until about Sunday. So, that's a lot of what we have been doing instead of updating here :) the girls have been great too. They are so glad we are all back together. And except for on Thursday, when they were crying that they wanted to go home with their classmate that picks them up on Thursday's, they have been so happy.

I just realized, I haven't updated in a while. Ben has been doing pretty well overall. It's just that we've seen an increase in vomiting. I don't think it's related to a infection of any kind because he's always happy after he throws up. And he doesn't act any differently during the day, except for a few days where he would have periods of 30 minutes to an hour of screaming. We have attributed that to possible withdrawal from his narcotics. As well as the sweatiness and vomiting. Overall, he is a very happy baby though. So, we're hopeful at maybe this is related to just having to take so many meds. The least amount he takes is 2 at midnight. The rest of the time it's 4-6 meds. And 2 of them cause nausea and vomiting. I'm going to try to see if taking them after eating helps. The ones he took tonight, he took on an empty stomach and then I fed him because he was so starving. Maybe eating first would help. Though, it is kind of hard because since he is nursing, I never know when he will be hungry. He is only 3 mths old. So, he's not on any kind of schedule yet. And I can't force him to eat if he doesn't want too. Also, his anti rejection meds have a strict time that they have to be taken at. I'm thinking that because he has thrown up so much this week (3 times today, twice yesterday, and various other times) they might push back our discharge date, which sucks. But, we want him healthy when we bring him home. We don't want to be worrying all night long. So, we will do what we have to do. Crossing my fingers that trying to move his feedings around his meds helps a little.
